The Far Eastside Festival is a free , family-friendly community event hosted by the Community Alliance of the Far Eastside. Now in its 7th year , the festival brings neighbors together for a full day of fun, resources, and celebration on the Far Eastside.

Attendees can enjoy free school supplies, free food, and entertainment for all ages . The event features a s pecial skills challenge with David Bell , former NFL player, along with a variety of interactive activities and performances designed to engage youth, families, and community members.

The 7th Annual Far Eastside Festival will take place on Saturday, July 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Community Alliance of the Far Eastside (CAFE), located at 8902 E. 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46226. All are welcome to attend , and there is no cost to participate.

Mardi Gras Bingo Night | July 30

We’re bringing New Orleans to the Far Eastside with CAFE’s Mardi Gras Bingo Night. This special event features several rounds of bingo, exciting raffles, and a cover-all game with a top prize of $500 , all while supporting CAFE’s ongoing work on the Far Eastside. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in Mardi Gras-inspired attire, including masks, beads, and bold, festive colors to fully embrace the theme.

Mardi Gras Bingo Night will be held on Thursday, July 30th at the Community Alliance of the Far Eastside, located at 8902 E 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46226. Doors open at 6:00 PM , and bingo begins at 6:30 PM . Snacks will be available for purchase throughout the evening, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere for community members to connect, play, and celebrate together.

CAFE’s Monthly Community Speaker Series offers two free opportunities each month for neighbors to learn, connect, and grow through rotating wellness and awareness topics led by guest speakers.

Lunch & Learns – 1st Mondays

Our Lunch & Learns take place on the 1st Monday of each month from 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM . These midday sessions provide a relaxed space to explore practical topics that support personal, family, and community well-being, while enjoying a shared meal.

Community Trainings – 4th Thursdays

Our Community Trainings are held on the 4th Thursday of each month from 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM . These evening sessions offer deeper, skills-focused learning experiences on subjects such as relationships, communication, wellness, and leadership, and are open to both teens and adults.

Registration is encouraged so we can plan for materials and food.

Join CAFE and Divine Transitions for a FREE Safe Sleep Workshop for expecting parents and caregivers. Learn simple, life‑saving practices to reduce the risk of sleep‑related infant deaths and keep your baby comfortable and safe at nap time and overnight.

During this workshop, you will learn:

The ABCs of safe sleep: baby sleeps alone, on their back, in a safety‑approved crib or bassinet.
How to set up a safe sleep space (firm mattress, fitted sheet, no pillows, blankets, bumpers, or toys in the crib).
Room‑sharing vs. bed‑sharing and why they matter for safety.
How to dress baby for sleep and prevent overheating.
Pacifier use, tummy time when baby is awake, and other everyday tips.
Local resources and supports available to your family.

NCLC at CAFE

Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic provides free legal information and guidance for tenants who are currently facing or are already in the eviction process. CAFE supports this effort by advocating for the community and serving as a no-cost host site where Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic attorneys meet with residents at our center, 8902 E. 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46226. Services focus on helping tenants understand their rights, the eviction process, and available legal options; this program does not provide rent payments or any form of monetary assistance.
