Welcome to the Community Alliance of the Far Eastside, a grassroots organization taking action to help better the lives of our residents and strengthen our Indianapolis home. The Far Eastside embraces a wide variety of people and businesses. It's a place of immense opportunity, but also one facing some serious challenges. As a central part of our effort to promote the common good, CAFE is hard at work every day on a wide variety of neighborhood initiatives, both big and small. When we all work together, we can make the entire community stronger.

Our Mission.

To enhance the quality of life on the Far Eastside, CAFE is committed to engaging adults, youth and seniors in a community network that strives to keep families strong, empowered, and connected through opportunities for leadership, self-sufficiency, asset building, and social activities.

CAFE is a resident-driven, neighborhood-based nonprofit organization that strives to meet the identified needs of the community via community development, neighborhood organizing, economic development, workforce development, youth services, senior citizen programs and the provision of social services. CAFE was incorporated in June of 1997 as the merge of the area’s social service provider and the community development corporation. This merge allowed for the development of one organization to comprehensively address the needs of all residents.

CAFE is a United Way of Central Indiana (UWCI) Member Agency. CAFE is also a member of the Indianapolis Coalition for Neighborhood Development (ICND).
